Internal Audit 19
This week, the @b2bpartnerships team have been reflecting on our time at last month’s Internal Audit 2019, The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, flagship Annual Conference.
With over 10,000 members across all sectors of the economy, the Chartered Institute is the voice of the Internal Audit profession and is committed to championing the role of Internal Audit within business.
Across the two days, over 500+ Internal Auditors attended the event, including senior audit professionals from a range of public and private sector organisations.
b2b were excited to be working with the Institute to develop and build partnerships across the conference with a range of leading organisations including; @BarclaySimpson @AuditWare @haysnews @bdoaccountant @auditboard @Ideagen_Plc @mybcu @mbkbtraining @FusionRiskMgmt @ICE, and thought leadership and Principal partners @TeamMate and @WeGalvanize
We worked with the Chartered Institute in the planning and programme of the event and integrated a partnership programme that enabled the Chartered Institute to work closely with different stakeholders to bring the event to life.
Internal Audit 2019 enabled those organisations involved to showcase industry knowledge and expertise and engage with delegates on the current hot topics and challenges that Internal Auditors face within the profession.
Insightful keynotes were delivered from speakers such as Jonathon Porritt and Stephen Grey, and a number of panel discussions and breakout sessions were designed to engage audiences and spark interesting debate and further discussion.
The panel discussions had great speakers including Jill Emney, Gill Williams, Dr Byron Grote and Elizabeth Holner, and were chaired by Hannah Vaughan Jones.
The breadth of themes and topics covered at the conference highlighted the relevance and importance of Internal Auditors in business and the critical role of Internal Audit in organisations of the future.
Key questions were raised from the keynotes and audiences, such as @jonathonporritt asking “can business prevent environmental collapse?” and what will really be the role of Internal Audit in business and how Internal Auditors will be called upon to support ongoing business sustainability.
We were delighted that climate change was a key factor of discussion during the event as this reinforces the great work b2b’s other clients, such as The Carbon Trust and The Climate Group are doing to accelerate climate actions in business
The conference looked holistically at the future of Internal Audit, and the importance of having a vision for 2020 and beyond. This resonated with us in particular as part of our ongoing work with the Chartered IIA we are supporting their future growth and partnership strategy and how they ensure their members continue to support the future growth of all organisations going forward. Looking at the future is key at b2b.
The team at b2b are focused on developing the Chartered IIA’s future strategy and are thoroughly looking forward to working alongside the Institute on their 2020+ plans.
