Why our latest CIPD partnership feels more meaningful than ever...
CIPD’s 21st Annual Resourcing and Talent Planning Survey in partnership with OmniRMS issues a call for employers to be more strategic with their recruitment and selection processes.
The survey and related materials provide trend analysis and benchmarking data on key areas such as recruitment, talent management, retention and turnover and revealed that 25% of employers do nothing to improve boardroom diversity
This insight comes at a critical time for organisations who are facing the continued, global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the impending end of the Brexit transition period with its implications on workforce management.
More than 660 employers responded to the survey, and results indicated that organisations had more success improving diversity more broadly, with two in five (41%) recruiting a more diverse workforce in the last year. However, it also suggests that employers could be making even more progress, as less than a quarter (23%) go beyond basic legislative requirements on protected characteristics with regards to their recruitment and selection processes.
The Survey has been a key indicator of recruitment and talent planning trends for more than twenty years, but the unforeseen and unprecedented challenges of 2020 has made this year’s findings more important than ever. View the full and summary report and infographics here.
b2b developed the 3-year partnership between Omni RMS and CIPD towards the end of 2019, when none of us could have imagined the challenges 2020 would pose to us all.
We scoped out the opportunity working closely with key advisors at CIPD to shape the partnership opportunity. We then talked extensively to the market to understand the progression and innovation being carried out within the recruitment sector, before securing the partnership with Omni across the annual flagship research programme.
It is an honour to develop research and insights partnerships for CIPD, as we always see first-hand, the ripple effect, the positive change and sharing of good practice that comes about as a result of the institutes work.
We have been working collaboratively to build partnerships for the CIPD for over a decade and have a strong working relationship with CIPD’s amazing research advisors and partnerships team which is paramount to the successful delivery of CIPD’s thought leadership campaigns.
The positive benefit of CIPD’s research to partners extends beyond CIPD’s 150,000 membership to encapsulate and deliver impact to far larger network of people professionals and wider business community, ultimately supporting the people at the heart of work and society.
The subsequent effect of our work with CIPD is extremely rewarding as we know that the partnerships that we develop are socially conscious and meaningful. For us, this is especially important as we know that in our own small way we are making an impact in business and to people at a time when the world that we live and work in changing before our very eyes.
From the insight and data gathered as a result of the CIPD Annual Resourcing and Talent Planning Survey in partnership with OmniRMS, it is evident that to be sustainable and resilient and harvest an inclusive culture, more must be done at a strategic level to boost diverse recruitment. This survey and partnership will drive a more powerful conversation for organisations and their people.
CIPD and Omni can practically support employers to take a strategic approach to talent management, broaden and diversify talent pools, develop skills in-house and consider the role of technology within their processes. Which is something all organisations need and will benefit from if we are to ensure a sustainable economic recovery.
