The Role of Membership Organisations in the drive to a Zero Carbon Economy

Business plays a pivotal role in the cause and solution of climate change.

Our objective is to facilitate the opportunity for membership organisations to take a proactive leadership role and support the professions and industries they represent to accelerate towards net zero.

This event explores the role of associations in the transition to net zero carbon economy.

Mike Peirce, Director at The Climate Group and Alison Heppenstall from b2b, will be joined by:

- Dr Adam Marshall, Director General, British Chambers of Commerce

- Jonathan Labrey, Chief Strategy Officer, International Integrated Reporting Council

- Sharon Machado, FCCA Portfolio Head of Business Reporting , ACCA

This panel discussion, with representatives from a range of business sectors,  will explore:

  • To what extent should professional and industry bodies demonstrate Climate Leadership?

  • To what level do industry organisations understand the impact on climate by their sector/profession?

  • What level of  Climate Action support do you think members seek from their professional and trade association?

  • What more can be done to ensure membership groups work better together and collaborate to accelerate the move to a net zero economy?
